                                                       Blurring the gender line
Part II

What separates people from animals is that human beings have morals. People should accept certain social restrictions. Because of these moral guidelines, society is able to function in an orderly manner. As for gender roles, men and women are biologically different, and therefore, the expected images of both sexes are also different.

The typical image of a man is brave and masculine, whereas females are sensitive and gentle. These images are products of human evolution. In other words, if we were to try to break down these barriers, it would be going against human nature. In addition, society might become more chaotic. Following set gender roles, with men acting like men and women like women, is definitely the rule we should abide by, just as we have done since the beginning of time.

If I could go back in time

Part I

Once in a while, I wish I had the magical powers to go back in time. If I could really do it, the one thing I would like to do is to see my grandfather.

My grandfather passed away when I was only five. Therefore, I have very few memories of him. My parents and older cousins describe him as a good-tempered and generous man. My mother told me that when I was only a year old, I had a serious cold with a high fever. Unfortunately, both of my parents were working overtime that night. It was my grandfather that took me to the hospital and cared for me throughout the night. It is a pity that I don't remember much about him. Thus, if I could travel back to the past, I'd want to get to know my grandfather by having a long talk with hem.

Part II

Life is short and we should always seize opportunities when we have them. If I could go back in time, I would do so many things differently. I think I would like to be back in elementary school at the beginning of my academic life.

I'd go back to this time and instead of disobeying my mother when she told me to buckle down and study, I'd listen. I'd take her advice and pay more attention to my teachers. What they were trying to teach me was for my own benefit. At the time, I thought having fun and playing with friends was more important. As a result, I spent many years trying to catch up. It's impossible to go back in time, but if I could, I'd be a better student.

                                                   Can we live without TV?

Part I

I think we can live without TV. To be more precise, I think we should not watch TV at all.

According to a news report, watching TV reduces metabolism, activity levels, and even a person's IQ. Moreover, watching TV contributes to passive thinking and anxiety. Being a couch potato is also believed to deprive a person of his or her imagination. It you've ever read a novel that has been adapted into a movie, you'll find that the book is always better. That's because the pictures you can make in your mind are more powerful. Besides, many programs are so violent that they are not worth watching at all. Without TV, people would have time to read books or spend more time with their families. Let's get off the couch and go outside.
